前に書いていたことの追記です。
日本の厚労省が注意を喚起している米FDAの2004年11月のラベルは、その後も更新され続けました。2004年版と2005年版の冒頭を比べてみましょう。
2004年11月は次の通り
Serious and sometimes fatal infections and bleeding occur very rarely following spontaneous,
surgical, and medical abortions, including following Mifeprex* use. Before prescribing Mifeprex,
inform the patient about the risk of these serious events and discuss the MEDICATION GUIDE and
the PATIENT AGREEMENT. Ensure that the patient knows whom to call and what to do, including
going to an Emergency Room if none of the provided contacts are reachable, if she experiences
sustained fever, severe abdominal pain, prolonged heavy bleeding, or syncope.
2005年7月は次の通り
Serious and sometimes fatal infections and bleeding occur very rarely following spontaneous,
surgical, and medical abortions, including following Mifeprex* use. No causal relationship between
the use of Mifeprex and misoprostol and these events has been established. Before prescribing
Mifeprex, inform the patient about the risk of these serious events and discuss the MEDICATION
GUIDE and the PATIENT AGREEMENT. Ensure that the patient knows whom to call and what to
do, including going to an Emergency Room if none of the provided contacts are reachable, if she
experiences sustained fever, severe abdominal pain, prolonged heavy bleeding, or syncope, or if
she experiences abdominal pain or discomfort or general malaise (including weakness, nausea,
vomiting or diarrhea) more than 24 hours after taking misoprostol.
2005年版の2行目"No causal relationship..."の行を見てください。当初は、中絶薬そのものが原因であるかのように見られていたのが、後の調査で関連性が乏しい（別の要因がある）可能性が浮かび上がったためです。が、念のため、安全に注意を呼び掛けているという形になっています。
2004年の秋にミフェプリストン使用で死亡者が出た時には、プロライフがほらみたことかと大騒ぎをしましたが、日本の厚労省はこういうことには即座に反応するんですね。前にも指摘しましたが、10月付で書いた注意にそそくさと「11月の情報」を盛り込んだ。ところが、「その後」の更新情報は知らん顔なんです。アメリカの方は、原因追及に躍起となって膨大な報告が出ているのですが・・・。
おまけですが、厚労省の注意が「膣からの出血」「大出血」を強調しているのもちょっと奇妙です。この薬を使うと「重い月経」のような出血があるのは当然で、妊娠週数が進めば量も「大量」になります。その当たり前の状態を一義的に「危険」とみなすのは奇妙ではないでしょうか。（月経を経験したことのない男性担当者がお書きなのかもしれません。血が出るというだけで恐ろしいことに感じられるのかもしれませんね。）
