バイデン政権は12日、テキサス州での中絶をほぼ全面的に禁止する新法の施行を阻止するため、テキサス州を提訴した。
先週、連邦最高裁判所は、多くの女性が妊娠に気づく前の妊娠6週目以降の中絶を禁止するテキサス州の法律を放置しました。この判決は、1973年のRoe v. Wade判決で中絶の権利が憲法上認められて以来、中絶を禁止しようとしてきた社会的保守派の大きな勝利となりました。
ジョー・バイデン米国大統領は、この法律が、妊娠6週目以降の中絶を手助けした人（中絶手術を行った医師や、女性をクリニックに車で送ったタクシー運転手など）に対して民事訴訟を起こすという、民間人による執行に依存しているため、「違憲の混乱」を引き起こすだろうと警告しています。
こんど、判決が出るのはミシシッピの裁判ですよね？
